Political websites in the UK are generally, bloody awful. They’re usually nothing more than an extended brouchure with a few press releases. There’s none of the interactivity or indeed any of the shameless money-grabbing of some of their US counterparts.
Now though the Conservatives have gone on launched something that’s actually quite different and clever. Webcameron is a video blog with Web2.0-style goodness in the form of tags and comments (though lacking in RSS). Providing they can keep it up with interesting content it’s got the potenital to reach new audiences for the party, which has to be good for political discourse generally.
It’s a shame that the other political parties haven’t themselves been able to engage with the internet generation.
